European Excess Insurance

Our ‘Excess Europe’ policy is the ideal solution to protect against car hire excess charges if you are renting a vehicle in Ireland and Europe.

Our policy reimburses you should your rental vehicle be damaged or stolen and you are charged an excess fee by the rental company.

  • What’s covered
    • Excess fees relating to damage & theft – up to €7,500
      Excess charges relating to towing, lock out and misfuelling
      Rentals up to 65 continuous days in length
      Vulnerable vehicle parts including tyres, windscreen & undercarriage
      Drivers aged between 21 to 85
      Hotel and travel expenses due to loss of use of rental vehicle
      Covers 9 named drivers (if named on the rental agreement)
      Vehicles up to 20 years old & €100,000 in value
      Loss of use charges up to €500
  • What’s not covered
    • Mechanical breakdown due to wear & tear or malfunction
      Accidental damage to the vehicle’s interior
      Vehicles with more than 9 seats
      Countries not defined as European territories (please see policy wording)
      Charges relating to fines and driving infractions
      Rentals that commence before a policy has incepted
      Competitive, performance and offroad driving
